Just Got an email from Cody Lundin of ALSS. He just signed the deal to do a new survival show for the Discovery Channel. He couldn't reveal much in the email except to provide the heads up, and let us all know he intends to present the skills and techniques with truthfullness and integrity.

Way to go Cody. This one may be worth watching.

I saw something where the pathfinder guy on Youtube that was in another thread was trying to get in on the Cody Lundin deal.

Maybe Rick will chime in too on this one. He and I talked on different occasions to some Discovery folks about a show. Unfortunately, nothing came of it.Not sure if it is the same one Cody will be in.

I like Cody's book 98.6 degrees and can predict he'll definitely have a big following after. The book is a fun read and hopefully the show has the same tone. I hope it is more skills based than gadget-oriented and with plenty of practical tips.

That might be the "Dual Survivor" deal he is doing with Dave Canterbury.
They got picked a few months back to do the show, they are supposed to go to Australia first I think. Feb. or March is supposed to be the first episodes I think.

I haven't spoken to Dave in a while, since he got back from meeting with the Discovery guys. Dave has made a lot of changes on his site as well, since signing with those guys.
Dave was going to send/sponsor our new book project with gear/training materials but he had to make a TON of changes about his "Pathfinder" name, even had to stop his deal with blind horse knives for the Pathfinder knife, no more orders are going to be taken on that.

All in all I think it is going to be a GREAT show and wish Cody and Dave the best.
They have worked all of their lives to get to where they are today!

Both Dave and Cody are a couple of the NO BS guys in the survival arena.

PastorMarko. If you like 98.6 degrees you,ll love "When All Hell BNreaks Loose". Same honesty and humor with a much wider application field.

While some of Dave's stuff is a little controversial it comes from a military backgroiund (same here) and applications are taught there for use under extreme conditions where an individual may not be able to get to help for extended periods of time. A little different viewpoint than most survival instructors have been exposed too. Valuable outlook and information.

If they are either one involved the show will be better than anything currently available. If both are involved it should be fantastic.

No time frame cause Cody is under a gag order to reveal nothing till the show starts. It's eatin him up.

Last I heard Cody and Dave Canterbury of the Pathfinder school got a deal with Discovery to do a 'Dual Survivor' type of show.

That is what I read of Dave's Facebook page.

That's the one alright.... Dual Survival..... two or more "Survival Gurus" put together in One situation. I haven't heard anything else, Kevin... have you? Quite frankly, I am hardly a "Guru" so I was hesitent to say yes... I just asked a few questions. Probably too many... I guess I blew my chances of being a superstar....

Like I metioned to Kevin... I think they may be going for the "Reality Drama" more than quality survival. Which may have won me ratings since I am a grumpy sonavabiatch to be stranded with. Seriously, man.... I'll eat yer food.

Dave and Cody would be cool to watch.... Cody has been around longer, but Dave don't put up with S#!T from what I hear.

Any word as to if it will be them together in a situation, or seperated in the same landscape to show differences/similarities in their methods?

Sounds interesting either way.

I got the feeling that they are trying to take two different personalities so there might be a little friction between them, adding a somewhat "reality TV" aspect to the show.
I look forward to seeing the show, it should bee good.

Great news! I think Ive already watched all the youtube uploads of abodudeman. Cody Lundin is definately my favourite survival-author, and the clips on YT proof he can be entertaining and informative on tv also

I do hope that's not the case... I cant stand the made-up storylines and "conflicts" of the usual reality-shows. For example the Expedition... a great idea, done with obviously a huge budget, but the end result... just ludicrous.

But, Im confident that Cody Lundin would not even agree to appear in a "Survivors" -spinoff. Im also hoping that Discovery channel wouldn't do that.
