Just picked up the Domino on the weekend.
So far, I am very impressed. Mostly visual inspection so far. Not much cutting, lots of flipping, but it would appear
to me, that this one is a knockout. Superb ergo's, sits in my hand like it's meant to be. The lock up is outstanding and opening and closing are like butter. The more I look at this, the more I think that this is a great piece of work for the price. It just screams quality.
This is my 12th. Spyderco so far. And so far my favorite.
Well done Spyderco.
Cheers

How do you like the carbon fiber? Is it grippy enough? This will be my next Spydie. I keep drooling over the pictures of it.

Love the CF.
It does feel fairly grippy. I got to handle it before purchase and I was surprised with the grip.
Cheers

Yea, the domino is one well built knife with the best F&F of any knife I have had at <500$. The only thing is the scale, I just cant get used to it. Hope they make more flippers, they do it has good or better as any company out there.

I love the Domino. I just replaced the ugly Cosby sweater scale with beautiful maple burl wood, stonewashed the blade, and anodized the titanium. It is still the Domino but so much prettier.

I really like the scale as is.
Especially the pattern under certain light. Moves around and plays tricks on the eye.
Changes colors sometimes.:)
Looking forward to your pics though. Love maple burl.
Cheers

I recently purchased a Domino love the knife, although I broke a pocket clip screw and sent an e-mail to Spyderco's customer service about purchasing another screw or two. Never heard back from them. So much for their Customer Service! Not impressed!

How long since you've sent the email, Wes? Maybe try calling them; I much prefer speaking to someone personally when it comes to something like that.

I'm a huge fan of the Domino. There's not a thing I don't like about the knife, including the CF scale. I don't understand the hate that the scale gets, I think it looks great. I much prefer it over the CF found on the Sage 1. To each their own.

Congrats to the OP, the Domino is great!

The Domino is awesome. I think the Southard received more fanfare, likely because it was Spyderco's first flipper. I like the Domino more. It flips great but the thumb hole also works perfectly. I have a harder time using the thumb hole on the Southard. I prefer the carbon fiber on the Domino to the tan G10 on the Southard. I also prefer the blade shape of the Domino.

I called Spyderco today and they said they would send me the screw./screws

Fire Beard, I agree with you on the calling them instead of e-mail.

What I like most about the Domino is the smoothness of the flip action.

Thanks,
Wes

I wanted to post a picture of the Domino with the Maple Burl wood scales. Is there a way I can do it with out a "URL"? I am new here so please excuse my naivety. I have the pictures on my computer and want to just copy and paste them into the "reply" box. Unfortunately, it will not let me do that. When I click the "insert Image" button it directs me to a page which requires a "URL", which I do not have. Thank you for any and all assistance. PS: Actually I can get a picture of my scale on the makers Domino. I am not sure if it will work, but here is hoping. I commissioned the scale and did the stonewash and anodizing personally. I just ordered the Spyderco Southard a few hours ago an am planning on doing something similar.

Billowen, open an account with a photo hosting site like photobucket or imageshack and when you upload the photo to their site you'll get a URL to post here. It's quick and easy.
Here is the scale mounted on my domino before I shipped it to you, but let's see that stonewash and anodizing job!

This thread is making me miss my Domino. Good pick for the scale Bill; another example of Steve's excellent work.

I like my Domino but mine's still kind of gritty even with lots of flipping, cleaning and a bit of light lube. Seems to be coming from the bearing on the liner lock rubbing against the blade. Not as smooth at the one I tried at my local knife shop which was like butter. Too bad I got mine from a pre-order from KnifeCentre. Can't do a direct exchange.

Wheres a good place to buy scales for the Domino?

The CF is nice, I wish they chose a different pattern than the checkered look. It looks like plaid a little to much...

That or I hope they release different versions with different scales.

Mine was really gritty too at first. I opened it up and lubed it. Flipped it a few hundred times and man is it like butter now. I only put it down today because I just got a cheap lightning OTF in the mail. Wow is that fun. (first OTF).

The Domino is a great knife.
The problem is that now it's too nice for me to carry.

I'm sure most have seen this picture but it's nice to show off Steve's work.

Or too nice not to carry. Depends on your perspective. Beautiful!
