A more ambitious piece than anything I've seen for a long time.

Hamon is out of this world of course:

Wrought iron tsuba with gold bead accents:

And the mounts by Wally Hostetter are not too shabby either:

WOW!

I find myself floored.
The whole package is gorgeous.
The blade geometry, the hamon, the exotic saya.
I LOVE it!

That is really a fine piece of art from a master. Thanks for posting the pics Joss they are great.

very nice piece of work. one of the nicest blades i've seen in a while, great shape, spectacular hamon - impressive. wally did a great job with the mounting - the use of red, and the ribbing all the way down the saya is very dramatic and compliments the blade nicely.

at first look i'm torn on the tsuba though - by itself it's very cool, the way the gold plays with the texture is very eye catching. not sure if i like the way the textured tsuba contrasts with the clean blade, or if that tsuba should have been used to compliment a blade that looks a little rougher, maybe with some texturing itself. it is growing on me though.

can't wait to see what he comes up with next, always unique & stunning.

Just lovely, but WAY beyond my means.

Ditto for me. Though I guess I could always sell my wife's car when she's not looking. ;)

Roger!

What are you waiting for? That car's value deteriorates every single day!

Get with the program!

OOPS, you are off the hook, it is now maked as sold.

Best,

Peter

Hopefully not while she's in it. :)

Yeah, way beyond my means as well, but nice to fantasize about.

Don's work gets better every time. This blade is one of the finest I've ever seen. I keep sending these offerings to my wife's pc and she keeps replying: "in your dreams!" Go figure! Some day, I'll get one of Don's masterpieces.

I remember a couple years ago he sold a fully mounted katana for less than 1/2 the price of this one. I'm kicking myself now. Unfortunately he will not be at Reno this year, so my opportunities to buy anything are remote now.

The Dha Chi has already sold. I wonder who bought it. Maybe Gabe Newell?

That is probably the most gorgeous blade I've seen in quite some time.

Way beyond my menas as well. So are most of the things displayed in museums. I still love to look at 'em. I keep dreaming about owning one of Don Fogg's pieces someday......
