Has anyone seen the new Kabar Folding Hunter that A.G. Russell is carrying? The Folding Hunter now comes with an aluminum handle and a 3" D2 blade  . Anyone have any experience with this knife? How is the liner lock? Thanks!

I have two of the zytel lockbacks - spearpoint and thumbhole. They are both great knives, especially for $20. They compare favorably with knives costing close to twice that. Very comfortable, but I would prefer a bit of a lower guard shape to the handle. I have held the Al handled one. The ergos are the same, but the steel is better and it's a liner lock (which I don't like on principle).

I have their Ka-Bar Mule Folder and it has taken a lot of work and adjusting to get the knife to open with the thumb stud. I figure another 6 weeks or so it may be easier to open :D

It is a very good using knife. But I prefer the high hollow grind on Bobs handmade. If you like to carry a small lightweight folder in your pocket, it is a fine choice since there is no pocket clip attached. Ti fanatics- take note, the liner is steel.
