Just received from 1SKS a new 154CM EDC. The blade is marked 1 of 500. What does it mean? There has to be many more than 500 of these produced. Even if there were only 500 made I don't see how I would have ended up with the first one at this point. BTW this is my second EDC, what a great design this is. Must have a talonite one in my future I think.

The 154CM EDC's that 1SKS have are a part of the original run of EDCs (an exclusive for 1SKS at that time) in that blade steel. 500 in total were produced, thus the blades were all marked "1 of 500" This does not mean you have the first one that was produced. It means you have one of the 500.

That makes sense, thanks for the reply. Also the blade on this one, unlike my previous EDC, rubs on the lock side as it is opened. I did look back though previous posts to find the fix for this and found it, however, mine has no blade play at all. In fact the pivot is adjusted quite tightly. Anything I can do myself to remedy this misalignment?

You can do this without help but it's easier with two.

First loosen the screws holding the scales together, but only on ONE side of the knife, not the pivot screw. "Bend" the knife to move the blade away from the side that rubs. While holding that position, tighten the screws.

Don't try to force the screws. They may have a "loc-tite" style compound on the screws.

I'd contact Will or Camillus first to see what they would like you to do. If you screw up the screws heads they might not call it a defect.

To add what Dwight said, if you have or have access to a pencil style soldering iron, use it to heat up the screw heads to loosen the Loc-Tite to make it easier to move them. It'll make the going easier.
