hi guys!
i was wondering if you guys could tell me what a good low cost edc blade is
i live in europe so cheap is europe cheap not us cheap:P
-i want a grippy handle but not agressive grip
-hollow grind or saber grind
-stainless steel blade(like 8cr13MoV)?
-4mm spine or thicker
-i dont want to be sad when it breaks or got a lot of wear on the blade

it should be fun when pics of the models are in :D

already thanx

Just picked up one of these today for 25 bucks. i like it a lot. Strong stainless steel blade, firm lock.

Spyderco Tenacious is about the same price, and those who own them seem very impressed for the price. Has everything you listed except FFG instead of hollow ground.

The Kershaw Volt II is a good buy for the money or the Kershaw Clash. GOOD LUCK! Kevin :D

id consider the spyderco tenacious and maybe more so the Persistance. those are both in the steel you mentioned.

But none of the above have a 4mm thick blade. At most they are probably 3mm. The 4mm equates to .156", and the 3mm to .125". I think the new Spyderco Resilience has the 4mm blade, but I'm NOT 100% sure. It is USA inexpensive, but it is big, with a 4.25" blade.

Why do you want a 4mm blade? Thinner blades both cut more easily and are easier to sharpen.

Why do you want such a thick steel for an edc knife? It'll just hurt the performance of the knife for most EDC tasks.

it doesnt really need 4 mm 3mm is ok 2 but i saw my centofante 3 bending on some hard work!

If you're really concerned about it you could look into tanto blades since the tips are a lot stronger.

If you pry with your knife I would suggest buying a mini pry bar and add that to your edc.

I'd say some kind of Ka-Bar Dozier, then. It's an FRN handle, so it's lightweight, grippy but not too grippy, and won't shatter if you drop it. The blade is hollow ground so it will slice well and be easy to sharpen. AUS-8 is stainless and takes a great edge (although it won't hold it. It's better than 8Cr13Mov, though). The lockback is sturdy and functional. And it's really cheap so it won't be too bad if you break/lose it.

The Ontario RAT folder is a lot of the same idea, but a little better.

But don't use your knife as a pry bar. No knife is meant for that.

i think the rat is a little bit to aggressive for my envoirment....

guys thanx for everything!
i did got some spare money so i decided i would buy the new spyderco endura 4 ss

cant wait till its here!:D

I would recommend all of the knives listed above. The drifter and chill are amazing knives for under 20 dollars and the tenacious is great at 30 dollars... Buy them all

Spyderco Sage. Carbon fiber, s30v, light and great blade geometry. Slips in and out of the pocket smoothly. For the money can't be beat.
