Hello Guy's,

I am looking for something new in a smaller fixed blade for horizontal belt carry. I have an Esse 3 but its a bit too long and wide for across the back.
Any input would be appreciated. I thought about Izula or BHK'S Bushcrafter.

Thank You, Mike

Looking for a "Survival" Knife, something that would do all the finer stuff in the woods and complement a 6 in plus blade.
I would like to spend no more than $150.

Thanks

Thanks...we are getting somewhere. What do mean by "survival"? I take it you mean "outdoor recreation"? Like you want smallish fixed blade for finer work (maybe cleaning a fish, slicing salami, messing around making a fuzz stick, etc) when you are out enjoying the woods?

You NAILED it Friend! The odds of me needing this to survive are pretty slim, that's what the quotes meant. I think I am starting to really like knives in general.
Need another job.

Check out some of the offerings for the Bark River EDC series: City Knife, EPK, Essential, Little Caper, Little Carver, Little Creek, Mini Fox River, North Star Companion, PSK, Trailmate.

The KA-BAR Becker BK11, 14, or 24 are perfect EDC fixed blades at really good prices. I carried at 14 horizontally for quite some time and was very pleased. Also just going to throw the Scrapyard SYKCO 311 into the mix too for something a bit different. I have been pocket carrying one since I got it and after thinning down the edge a bit its a really good blade. It also holds an edge like no ones business.

It's also always worth looking at the custom/handmade knives on offer over in the knifemakers market here. There are some really great value for money knives available from time to time.

And if you want to spend wayyyy less than $150, there's the AG Russell Woodswalker.

I had one and loved it.

Until my wife stole it. I really should get another one. :D
