So for the past few years i have carried the Benchmade 530 and recently I have decided to start looking for a new EDC knife. I'm looking for some input and suggestions from people more knowledgeable then me.
I usually EDC a fixed blade, but I think a majority of people out there prefer folders for EDC.
Reasons why I loved fixed blades for EDC...
1. You can get more bang for the buck
2. A majority of the cost is associated with the type of steel in the blade, not the handle material and locking mechanism.
3. They are inherently stronger than any folder.
4. They are fun to EDC. I love my neckers and have one with me everyday.
I don't want this to turn into a folder vs. fixed blade debate, but my thoughts on a good EDC knife with occasional hard use would have to be a fixed blade, and my go to fixed blade of choice lately is the Izula... at under $50 bucks you can't beat it.
I have an izula, but I haven't found a good way to carry it on an everyday basis. I'm not a fan of neck carry. if you have any suggestions on a good carry method for it im open to suggestions
I love my new kershaw junk yard dog. The 3'' one costs $25 and has a metal handle while the 3" and some knife is 50ish with g10 handles. They are both inexpensive hard use made in the USA knives.
