New EDC - Razel vs Whirlwind?

Hey guys I'm picking up a new EDC folder, nothing fancy. I'm trying to decide between the bigger CRKT folding Razel or the Kershaw Whirlwind(either way non-serrated blade). They cost about the same $35-$40ish, both are reputable companies... I'm leaning toward the Whirlwind but that is only because I've owned one before, the Razel seems like a pretty heavy duty blade as well. I'm torn, what do you guys think? Pros, cons, different suggestions in the same price/quality range? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I have found Kershaw to be somewhat more consistent in quality than CRKT, but they are both good companies

I EDC the fixed-blade stubby Razel from Graham Knives - having that chisel front makes for an extremely handy utility knife.

These two knives are very different from one and other.

Both brands yield quality that will last you a while, so there won't be any issues in that department. The thing you need to decide is which blade shape will be more useful to you're needs?

Since you have owned that kershaw before, why wouldn't you try something new this time?

Besides day to day cutting tasks, I fish a lot, so it would be used to gut the occasional trout or striper when I don't have my fish knife handy. I like the Razel I just wonder if I'm going to miss having a pointed blade. I've also been looking at the spyderco catcherman and the plain blade civilian but they're a lil' price for me at the moment. I also like the fact that I could re-handle the razel with something a bit fancier.

I used to edc a kershaw blackout...loved it, gave it to my brother-in-law. I also have edc'd the crkt graham folding razel plain edge. I completely abused that thing mercilessly...it was just amazing. Gave it away to a good friend at work who flipped out when I handed it to him( he always admired it).

The razel blade design is just so versatile you can't go wrong. I bought it because I had a number of Graham brothers customs. It does not compare to having the real thing but for the price you will do things to it you wouldn't dream of doing to a prized custom.

I would love to see kershaw do a collaboration with Graham.

At some point I think I will buy another one of those crkt folding razel's.

I am sure you have all kinds of clip points, drop points and other standard type blade designs. Buy the razel you will not be disappointed
