New EDC recommendations? Cold Steel V. Spyderco...

Hey all, I have a small bonus coming up from work and am thinking of picking up a new EDC folder. Currently I carry a SOG Trident Tanto, and really like it, but have found the tanto style might not be my 'thing'. I used to have a Cold Steel Recon 1 that I really liked, but have decided against another one because of price and I'm over the 'tactical' thing. So here's what I've got:

I want a clip or drop point style folder, non assisted, for around or under $40. Here's three I'm digging with pros and cons:

Spyderco Resilience
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/3-2416937
-Big folder, flat ground, G10, lots of positive reviews.
-Might be a little too big, never owned a spyderco, liner lock strength?

Spyderco Tenacious
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/74848
-flat ground, G10, heard the lock is more solid because of its size, cheapest
-Little smaller than my current knife, dont know about the lock strength still...

Cold Steel Voyager LRG
http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/product/2-CS29TLCH
-close cousin to the Recon 1, 4 inch blade, tri-ad lock is solid!
-have had quality issues with CS in the past, don't really like their PR/service, bit more 'tactical'

SO, any suggestions? Recommendations? I'm open to other options as well if they fit the price range. You guys have an idea what I'm looking for... thanks!

Generally I like Spyderco more, but of those choices I'd go with the Voyager.

Personally I'd spend $20 more and get an Endura.:)

Can't spring for much over $40, just had a new baby and all these toys are getting hard to explain lol

I was kind of leaning towards the voyager, I kind of want a folder that can take some abuse, and as much as I love my SOG, it can't take the beating a triad lock can.

For a knife that can take some abuse at that price, then yes, you're leaning in the right direction.

Both knives are good for the money, I find the Tenacious easier to carry and I like the flat ground blade a bit better. But if I had to keep just one it would be the Voyager, it's stronger and the AUS-8 blade takes a great edge.

Kershaw has a few very good knives in the $40-50 price range, some of them made in the US (if that matters to you). Leek, Shallot, Skyline, etc.

Not a huge kershaw fan, their designs just don't do anything for me. I almost wish I didn't like the voyager so much because the idea of giving CS money kinda bugs me lol. But the word on them sounds universally positive, so I may just have to look past it.

I vote for the voyager. Mine takes a screaming sharp edge very easily and holds it reasonably well. Very solid folder

There is also a Blue Tenacious in that price range.

+1, I love mine

I'd go with a blue or green sprint run tenacious. Its just a bit more unique than the other choices.

For edc I like flat knives. Of the three I would go with the Tenacious. I have one. It carries well. And I like the spyderco clips better than the CS. I like spyderco wire clips even better. Try to spring for a Cat.
