Well, I thought I would take an hour or two tonight and get all the stuff out of the pockets and show you what I carry on a regular basis. I have a few different EDC scenarios - but MAINLY 2 set ups with my mini BOB always at my side (or in the car.) Here we go:

Work day EDC
I work at a Fortune 50 pharmaceutical company at their Corporate Headquarters, so "tactical" does not go over very well. I typically where slacks, shirt and tie. SO, bare that in mind while reviewing the selections.

Shirt pocket: Mont Blanc pen / pencil set (pen is almost 19 years old and pencil is around 3 years)
Front R: Neutrogena lip stuff, pill fob with migraine meds, Chris Reeve Mnandi
Front L: Glasses cleaner, 3-4 Fruit Breezers (I give a bunch of presentations) JetBeam MK-IIx with the new Cree bulb
Back R: Hartmann luggage mini card wallet
BACK L: Levenger folding shirt portfolio and Motorola Razr-c

BMW 328i keys with keydefender, McGizmo clip and GID fob
iPod - I am rarely too far away from my 80gig black iPod Video and my V-Moda Vibes ear buds. I don't take it around with me at work, but it is plugged in at my desk in a stand and speakers.

"Extra" EDC in the computer bag

I had this little beauty made by our own (DH) a few months ago and this little beauty travels with me into the office in my rolling computer bag. It contains a larger Inova TL3 light, my Leatherman WAVE, the small Sebbie and Fisher space pen that I carry in "relaxation mode" and a Leatherman Squirt.
This little beauty is AWESOME. It slips in my BOB perfectly, I can throw it into my work bag or into my luggage in a snap and I know that it is secure and I will not lose anything. It is perfect!

Relaxation EDC
When I get home, off comes the shirt and tie and on go the 5.11 shorts and a t-shirt. Here is what changes:

-more Mont Blancs
+Fisher telescoping bullet Space pen (I think I forgot to shoot that one)

-Mnandi
+Small Sebenza
+High Gear Summit Digital Compass Watch
+Bailey custom ringed-recurve knife. I sketched and Matt made my dream look beautiful!

Mini-BOB or extended EDC

Not sure what classification this stuff is in, but I think extended EDC is a good enough name for it. It is certainly not large enough or well enough equipped to truly be a BOB, but it carries the stuff that you will probably rarley need, but when you do need it, you are a ROCK star for having it. This is the stuff that when people say, "hey, you wouldn't by any chance have a piece of tape would you?" You can confidently do a bag-dive and come up with tape, super glue, zip-tie, Advil, Tide-To-Go pen or whatever the "emergency" warrants. You just NEVER know when you might need this stuff. SO, here it goes:

Here is the Maxpedition Neat Freak filled as seen from above and partially unzipped...

Looks like someone sure likes to label everything they own. A label on your Sebenza!?

Anal retentive much? :)

lol, not a bad idea, if I could afford a sebbie I might have my name engraved on it just in case I lose it at work, or where someone might know me...Heck now that I think og it I might even engrave a phone # too, lol, possibly a message that there is a reward if found, lol...

You certainly have some nice gear there and a well thought out set-up. It also seems that you have included all the necessities, and then some....right down to the "fruit breezers". ;) Your forte obviously seems to be organization and precision.

- regards

Very well thought out. I appreciate the fact that it's not all "tactical". As one who works in a cube, myself, I see that you're very practical as to what you'll ACTUALLY need.

A couple of questions: In the third photo, next to the handy saks, is that a mini-prybar? If so, can you tell me more about it? Also, what's in the olive green wallet above the matches?

Thanks,

-John

its always nice to see someone else have a snow peak titanium spork....... i love those things

Which Fisher space pen model is it you have in your kydex thingamajgger? How well does it work?

Anal? Me? I'm SHOCKED you would think so! :)

But really...I do like to be organized and prepared, and yes that is a label on my Seb. But, like you said, if I dropped that sucker, MAYBE, just MAYBE someone would be kind enough to look me up and call me.

The prybar is one of the mini prybars that you can get from CountyComm. It is nice - US Gov't Issue - cost me about $5.
The "olive wallet above the matches" is actually a gold soft case that holds my V-Moda Vibes ear buds for my iPod.
That Fisher Space pen is the cool "newer" Telescoping pen. I LOVE it.
--Your question about how well does it work...I am assuming that you were asking about the pen and not the kydex thing. The pen AND the kydex thing both are excellent designs and worked beautifully. I think I have a VERY old review of the Pen - you could probably find it in the archives if you looked hard enough.

Thanks for the looks and the comments!

Nice layout, very well thought out and organized. Great pics too. That kydex kit is awesome! Thanks for sharing.

That kydex thingy looks good.
But why 2 multi tools? What can you do with the squirt that you cannot do with the wave?
Other than that - nice setup.

Thought through that before I did both. The Squirt has the smaller tools and also I have the S-series Squirt which has the small scissors.

Man, I love seeing your EDC creations and pics...your obsessive-compulsive case was cool, too. Whatever happened to that? Got rid of it?

Great job

Yeah - I ended up with something alittle more flexible and comfortable to carry. A job responsiblity change also helped me change the hard case to the bag.

Thanks for the comments!

I didn't think anyone actually carried Tide to go pens. Nice set up, my set up is all over the place and crammed into pockets. I think it's about time i started saving up for a new kit.

I love pic heavy threads.

Really impressive and fun to look at stuff. I was also inspired and impressed with your OCD case. I like all of the Zyprexa stuff you took from work! Lilly, huh?

Hey - there is only ONE formerly Lilly owned item in there - that one pill case. It may be pictured more than once... (not that I don't have a few others throughout my car, briefcase, bathroom drawer and shave kit!) :)

Thanks for the comments. I know how much I enjoy looking at other's posts like this, so I thought I would take a few hours lastnight and put this together.
