Here's a quick look at something I'm working on. It's an EDC-style version of my folder with retractable pocket clip.
This one's kind of rough, being a prototype for this variation, but I think it gets the idea across.

OAL: 7.75
Blade: 3.25 inches Damasteel--Paul Bos HT. 61Rc (yes, it's Damasteel--I'm telling ya, it's a rough 'prototype' :) )
Liners: Ti, .083
Bushings: Bronze
Scales: textured G-10
Clip: In-Line Retractable Pocket Clip (Read More/See Video): http://www.caswellknives.com

I've added some pictures that help show the nature of the clip's functionality.

I'll be looking forward to seeing more of that model. - nice. The more I see that clip the more I like it.

Wow I love it! how much would a EDC version run us?

What a great idea how did it come to you?

Thanks for the kind remarks, all!

Killdozer,
These will have the same Damasteel blades as the fancier version (the one pictured just isn't etched yet). I can't give a hard number right now, my goal is to price these very aggressively (at least for the first bunch:D). I'll announce details when I can.

Thanks for the interest!:)

When I first thought of using a clip out the top like this, I presumed it would only work really well all the way at the back corner of the pocket (where I usually cary anyway) -- the image came to me of a person standing with a hand in a pocket, but with their pinky out over the back, like you might see sometimes on the street.
When I made a model, I discovered this configuration was somewhat more versatile than that, working handily in a bunch of different ways I wouldn't have predicted --like pretty much anywhere in your pocket, waistband, back pocket, clipped in a personal organizer (that's a new one) ...

Anyway,
Thanks for your interest and encouragement. :)

Wow, the knife looks absolutely beautiful. The design is stunning, the engineering is ingenious (I especially like the two notches at the tail end of the knife, on either side of the inline clip).

I've not bought a custom knife before and fear the price of this knife =) esp. in damascus - but I would love to buy one when available!!
