I'm looking to buy a new EDC, as my old one was bad quality and is now broken. My price range is up to $90. I would prefer it to be tanto, and spring assisted. Folder. Combo (strait and serrated) Any suggestions? I was thinking of the Cold Steel Recon one series, but that isn't spring assisted. SOG Flash II, Flashback, and Aegis are the ones I'm looking at right now. Any suggestions are welcome, as log as it is under $90.

Kershaw Blur will run you $60... Mine has been through hell and back as a duty knife and a EDC as well...

My roommate has a SOG Aegis, and he absolutely hates it. Feels very cheap IMO, as do most SOGs (also my opinion).

Do you have a particular size in mind? What's too big or too small?
Is weight a concern?

You might take a look at some of the Trident models.

Kershaw Black Tanto Blur or the Green Smoke Blur(comes in an updated steel, made in USA, and is around $80).

Ya, I've got two SOG's (trdent and Trident mini tanto). They feel like throw away tools. I actually have a bunch of Chinese made Ka-Bar's ranging for $13-$35 (Amazon prices) and I prefer them all to the SOG's. What about a Cryo or an Endura?. You could even get into a Benchmade for about 85 if you dig a little.

My only concern for that knife is there is nothing to block my hand from slipping and hitting the blade. Not a huge concern, but are there models that have that, otherwise, this so far seem my best choice. Thanks for your input EldoEsq

This is what you want. The blur is an awesome knife.

If you can live without the assist, then you want a cold steel triad locking knife.

PS. Every SOG folder that I've owned or handled had blade play, just a heads up. I don't even consider them an option anymore when I look at knives.
