Hey guys, brand new to the thread! Not exactly new to knives though. I currently own several sub $100 knives due to limited funds, but am gradually creating a more worthy collection. I mostly use my folders at work. I currently work at a thrift store, in the back sorting donations and unloading trucks. I cut a lot of cardboard, twine, rope, zip ties, plastics, and fabrics. Sometimes it can get a little rigorous haha
I've tried a few knives for edc, delica 4 ffg, Kershaw blur, sog trident (really didn't like it), Kershaw kryo, and benchmade full size griptilian. I find myself almost always picking my griptilian for work due to its reputation of being very durable, and sometimes go for my delica which I feel is somewhat fragile (could just be me).
I'm looking for something to replace my grip as my go to knife for going to work. Something lighter with similar size and good durability. I really like spyderco and was looking at the manix 2 in frn and the endura 4. What's your take on these two and what other options are out there in the same price range? Sorry for the long post, thanks!

I would throw in a vote for the Manix 2 from that selection. The Endura is basically a scaled up Delica, so if you find the Delica a bit thin the Endura will be too. The Endura is a very good slicer btw.

If you already have a Griptilian you probably have all the steel you really need. If you wanted something better for cutting twine and zip ties I'd just pocket a small pair of side cutter pliers.

A cheaper knife i just love to EDC is the kershaw Thermite.....it can be had for 35$ at kershawguy.com. I carry this knife over 20plus knives I own in 150-200$ range just something about it!! Maybe my love for Hinderer designs

I'm just a sucker for light weight. Ideally I'd like a knife under 3 oz with a thin profile and outstanding strength, but we don't live in a perfect world haha
I was also looking at the benchmade 530

Also the thermite might be an option, the only reason for mw not already owning one is because I can't say I love my cryo and am hesitant to buy another Kershaw Hinderer

Why do you need to replace the grip?
That said if you like spydercos the sage 2 comes in at about 3.5 ounces and has good steel.

The grip is a bit too bulky in the pocket. This isn't to flat out replace my griptilian. I use my knives in different scenarios, this one just happens to be my work place.

The grip is a great knife so I would keep using that and you can not go wrong with either Spyderco you mentioned. If you get the Saber grind on the Endura then it will be a bigger more durable feeling Delica basically. The Manix is great but its lock is similar to the axis but not quite the same (Benchmades seem to operate smoother)

The benchmade sequel might for the bill too. I have a mini presidio ultra 527 and prefer it to my mini grip. Its a little low budget but the kershaw skyline fits awesome in the pocket and is an awesome edc at any price. PS none of these knives will break under normal.use

I haven't really considered the skyline but now you've got me thinking. My main concern is blade play developing over time that cannot be fixed through the pivot screw

That's not very common on the skyline you just loctite the pivot once you get it to where you want in terms if flippability. Its very stout for such a thin knife as it only has a liner on the locking side. Right at 3 ounces to.

I have to check it out! Sounds promising. I have the fixed blade skyline and find it a good simple knife. Thanks!

Al Mar Eagle Heavy Duty is nice as well if you want to get something a little more unique. 3 ounces. They have a 2 ounce version as well.

Benchmade 940, slim and lightweight and can probably handle anything you're going to throw at it. Although kind of pricey at the moment. $150+

Now that's tempting and I can purchase it for $130 from the site I use... I may end up with one in my pocket soon :)
