Finaly got around to making me a new work knife. It's got an O-1 blade as I didn't have time to send a stainless off for heat treat or forge out some 52100.

O-1 blade, 3 1/2" long, 1/8" thick, coated with brownells gun kote.
bead blasted black linnen mycarta handle, 4 1/2" long,
heat colored ti linners and pocket clip. I bead blasted the edges and finaly got around to trying a brownells jewling kit I got about six months ago and it works great.

I used gun kote on the blade to help keep rust down as it will be used in a salt water environment and to see how it realy holds up rough use.

Thanks to a friend I've got a variace, now just need to finish building an anidizor. But it's 28 deg. outside rite now, it'll have to wait a while!

Looks pretty good from here! Make sure to let us know how the coating holds up.

nice work knife
it must be that time of year cause im working on a folder to keep for my self also
and do let us know about the coating

Thanks guys, it feels good to finaly get some shop time in, even if it is freezing and I've got a bit of a head cold. There's a couple of minior changes in the action I'll be making on the next one, but I've still got the kydex pattern so it'll be easier next time around.

If the coating will hold up to work on a drill rig, it'll hold up anywhere, especialy cutting chemicle sacks.
