After spanking this beast for the past week I decided to see how the Apex Edge Pro would handle it. Not bad!

And then a quick test.

Now before a TROLL pops in to say something like, "Well my old kitchen knife can do that!", just remember how fat this bad boy is. And then try prying and chopping something like the ASH-1. That is why I love fatties so much. They can get pretty dang sharp but still have all that beef for the extra heavy stuff.

Note: My wife is now hiding the phone books from me. D

Again, awesome blade Jerry! ;):D

listen, a bad book is a bad book, but really?? You could have traded it in on a stephen king or something.

:D:p

Oh lawd, was dat some rocking I saw?!?! Why didn't you push cut thru the middle of the book?!?!

Push cut does not count!

J/K - obviously. Great edge and great vids, as always!

Dude, you are such a badass. I love your videos! I wish I had taped myself beating my BATACLE last night, I got totally hammered and went on a super-destruction frenzy, chopping concrete, the whole nine. It's no longer as pretty as before, but I am a big believer now. The concrete put some huge gouges in the side of the blade, but the edge was only blunted, no chips or major damage. I'm going to hit it up on the sharpmaker and it should be as good as new.

What angle on the edge pro did you use? Also, is that double cut underneath the coating?!?!?

Jeez! I play music by ear! And sharpen by sight. :o I can't really remember what color marker the angle was set at. I think near the top. But here is how I sharpened it.

I used a sharpie marker to color the entire edge on both sides. Then I try a setting, just a few passes, and see where the stones are hitting the edge by observing where the marker is removed. For the ASH-1 I just matched the angle to whatever the factory angle was. I wanted to remove as little INFI as possible. It is probably a tad thinner. But just get it to where the stones remove only the marker on the edge. Then create your burr, and go from there to the other side. I took it all the way up to the yellow polish strips. It is scary sharp now. Not JUSTABUYER or BAN sharp, but still scary sharp. There is just something extraordinary about a wicked sharp piece of INFI this thick. :D

Good luck. ;)
