I don't know why but I just got a sudden urge to re profile the edge on the ol' ESKabar. It's damn near a scanti but not quite. NO pix yet. I had to touch up the patina on it before I want to take any pix of it. I'll have 'em up in a little bit. I don't really have a problem with this decision because if I need to do any pounding on a smaller knife I have a necker now, and always is the at my side (well on my neck) the Remora. And for the bigger things the trusty old BK2. Besides I feel these smaller type knives are more for intricate carving typea things.

Stand by for pix. :D

Here are the pix. I don't know if you can really tell what I did, but I know I did something ;)

Looks like you brought the edge back to around 25 deg inclusive. Bet that thing slices like crazy now.
Did you add the patina after the sharpening? I only ask because some of the edge has patina on it.

Yea. I did play with the patina after i did the edge, so it dose have some on it. Couldn't even guesstimate what the inclusive angle is but that might be close.

It looks good. You feel a big difference in how it bites into the media?
