Anyone hear about a new 35th Anniversary Commemorative Gerber Mark II?

Supposed to be numbered, limited to about 2500, and exact copies of the Viet Nam era original including grey textured handles, wasp profile, and brown leather leg sheaths?

Might be a good companion for my old Command II.

Ideas on possible investment value considering the price of the originals??

Not an EXACT replica -- doesn't have the canted blade. I bought a 20th anniversary version to keep my original Mark II company and the appreciation so far is minimal. It may be worth a little more some day, but I got mine because I like them. The latest version is pretty pricey, so it may take a long time for it to appreciate in value to any great extent. Would you pay the price even if it never increased in value? If so, there's your answer.

i have an old used mark 11 made in '68. i wonder what its worth?? any ideas??

In good condition? If so, start drawing dollar signs on a piece of paper cause thats what you can get for it :)

A while back I was getting interested about early Mark II's then changed my mind because it was too expensive for me. All the ones I wanted to pickup for my collection were going for $1500-$3000(no joke!). It depends on the serial number, cant which was already mentioned, handle material, and sheath condition. I was amazed at how much the sheath condition mattered in pricing these particular models.

There is a Gerber Collector's site if I can find the link where the owner has soooo many early Mark II knives. Gives great description and information for the beginning collector.

My wife gave me a matching serial number set of Viet Nam Commemorative MK II's in 1981. There were 2500 made for each service, each with chromed and etched blades from each service. My set is #2446. Anybody have any idea what these things are worth, or how I can find out?
