New Electric Vehicle Forum/Site

That's cool! Tell us uninitiated a little more about these vehicles. I would trade my Dakota in a minute for a pickup that got great mileage and was affordable.

I don't think a NEV would replace your pickup. ;) The Neighborhood Electric Vehicle category is for vehicles that are limited to 25mph. They're required to have an automotive windshield, safety belts, and standard lights. They're exempt from other safety standards. They're limited to roads with speed limit no higher than 35mph. There are a number of ways to get around the speed-limiter and get it up to 35mph.

We have 4 of those electric street vehicles at the airport where I work. 2 two seaters and 2 four seaters Nice for cruising the airport but would not want one on the road unless I lived in a retirement community. Go fast up to about 25mph. I think one crash is all you would get and you wouldn't live to tell the tale.
