I had been in the market for a mean, nasty knife for awhile. Started looking at the Persian and then I saw this on the exchange and got it a week ago. Been carrying it everyday and enjoying it a lot!

Didn't realize just how narrow/stabby this is. I like!

I'm really pleased with the ergos, the handle is uber comfortable in various grips.

I like it as an EDC also. My tactical lifestyle in middle-age involves chasing the rug rats around and helping keep everyone fed. Does great in the kitchen generally. Flew through pork and chicken like a light saber and great on the fruits/veggies in general.

Checked out the grind on this dry wood and it's a fine cutter.

Here it is with a fixed blade I love that scratches the tactical itch as well!

Been having fun with the wave too. I need to practice more, but it's a nice change of pace. I'm among those new Emerson owners who didn't know about the V ground still essentially having one primary bevel. Sucker cuts great and I just need to get my head around sharpening it.

For sure it already has me eyeballing the specwar, CQC 10, persian or CQC 7 Prestige/spear point for the next one!

Get the Persian next :) I do like the looks of the Gentleman Jim but it's too stabby for my tastes. I'm glad you have taken a liking to it! Oh and welcome to the Emerson sickness.

Of all Emersons, I think I'm most likely to buy a Gentleman Jim. Very cool knife.

I bought a Horseman a while back it didn't fit well at all in my hand and had some weird slip/stick things going on.

Nice pic's and review - big thanks for sharing. I find the CQC-10 to be my most faithful companion of all my Emerson's (25+ and counting). I'd wholeheartedly suggest that one since you have the "stabby" thing covered with your GJ. Otherwise, I'd snag a Persian, which might be in order anyway while they can be found, which for several years was like hen's teeth. I'll add to the imagery with the one's I've mentioned...

Congrats on your score! The Jim is one that I've always had my eye on, but something else usually comes up.

The G Jim isn't chisel ground is it?
I never carry my CQC 15 simply because that awkward grind makes me feel unbalanced or something.
I never feel like I'm getting it as sharp as my other knives either.
Ergos are phenomenal though.
May have to test out the GJ

Gent Jim is an awesome blade. Miss mine, but it went to a good home.

Congrats and excellent pics!

All Emerson's are chisel edged, some are V-ground and some chisel ground.

Thanks all folks.

As for what is next, seeing the persian in stock is tempting. My buying has been so odd lately....I'm either buying nice basic users or fighters like I'm expecting the Taliban to parachute into my town!

Both the CQC 10 and 7 spearpoint are real tempting- but have to figure are more regularly available?

Well hey, let's see if we can scatter your thoughts even more... My latest favorite is the Bulldog, a stout little brute indeed. Sorta' like a CQC-6 blade backed up by a slightly smaller CQC-10 grip.
