I just purchased a cqc7b chromium Nitrate # 501 on Ebay and was wondering a few things about the knife.
1. How do I sharpen it?
2. What is it worth. The seller said that it was 501 even though only 500 were made bc 7 were scrapped but the numbers were not replaced. How much is this ch nitrate cqc7b worth? I paid $108 including s&H.

Question 1: I use DMT Diafold stones in 600 and 1200 grit. With the chisel grind, sharpen one side and then lay the flat side against the stone, raise it barely off the stone, and lightly drag the knife to remove the burr. You can get them really freakin' sharp!
Question2: I own CQC7B CNS #'s 405 and 488. Paid $99.99 each plush shipping. As for the extra S/N's, e-mail Emerson to find out the true story. eknives@aol.com

Welcome to the world of Emerson owners. I would suggest checking out the SOCFK knife next. It's the best knife they make.
