Hello all,

Just got an emerson horseman off the exchange here. At first I didn't care for it and put it back up for sale. Decided a couple days later to just give the knife a little more time in the pocket. I am sure glad I did, the more I use it the smoother this thing gets. Really glad I decided to give it another chance. Through breaking in and practice I have gotten a lot better at waving it open.

Got a couple questions for the veterans. What does emerson use to coat the black blades? Did some looking through old posts here and on emersons web site but could not find anything about what the coating is.

Also, what angle does emerson sharpen at for the knives that are v ground but only sharpened on one side? Not a big deal on that one was just curious.

Thanks for any insight.

I believe the coating is black teflon. Could be wrong.

Oh and congrats on the Horseman. It's my favorite of the 8s
