New Emerson Thickness?

Hey guys,
Been a longtime emerson buyer - have now expanded my collection to a 7v, SOCFK, 15, 8 and I recently picked up a normal CQC-7 to replace one I lost in customs (sent it to Emerson for warranty repair, but it got stuck in customs.. am still awaiting results of the investigation Emerson lodged with customs, but until then I'm assuming that I've lost it).

Anyway, the point of this is I just recieved a 2011 CQC-7 - serrated, black finish, with wave. Now it seems to me that this is significantly thicker than the CQC-7 I lost in customs. Both the liner and the G-10 both seem to be thicker - they're now in proportion to my CQC-7V, which is significantly thicker than my 15, SOCFK, and I'm sure my old 7 I lost.

My question is; is this a new Emerson design trend going forward - thicker liners, and thicker G-10?

Emerson went to putting a 0.062 inch thick liner on the lock side instead of the 0.050 thick liner they tried earlier this decade. This transition seemed to happen as the new batches were manufactured.

Not so much the liners (though they did look thicker - but I'm unsure about that) but in particular the G-10. G-10 is noticeably thicker than 2010 models - this is only on 2011.

Some of the newer models such as the CQC-7V use a rougher thicker tan or other color G-10 but most use the same old black G-10

They said they go with what ever stock they have. The mini 7 and a100 this year uses much thinner liners.

That probably explains. Was just curious as to why it was significantly thicker than my previous CQC-7. Cheers mate.

Can anyone measure the exact difference, or does anyone have that information?

...Maybe even a picture comparing the difference?
