Greetings to all
I am now back in the shop after finishing 2 weeks of video shooting. This has been the toughest two weeks I've spent in probably the last 20 years. I shot 8-10 hours a day and lost 16 pounds in the process. I didn't think I had any weight to lose but I did.
I now have over 30 hours of video in the can. I sat out to cover all the aspects of the Emerson Combat Systems and I think I got most of it. I have no way of telling how many CD's this will eventually translate to but they cover the Emerson Edged Weapons Combat Course and the Emerson Hand to Hand Combat Course. I did not get a chance to complete the Advanced Karambit Course or the Emerson POST Course. I'll just have to do that later.
Anyway some of the material covered is Principles and Concepts, Body Mechanics, The Complete Edged Weapons Course, Hand to Hand Combat, Weapons Combat, Gun Disarms and Takeaways, Impact Weapons etc. I have over 60 Combat takedowns covered and at least 100 Grappling / Jiu-Jitsu techniques and counter techniques. The stand up fighting and stand up grappling is extensive and I have covered both short and long sticks in both fighting and takedown applications. There is tremendous amount of coverage on footwork and movement and a ton of stuff on counterpunching and defensive boxing skills, I do not know how much of this will actually make it to the videos or how many volumes or editions this will translate to.
This work has been exhaustive and has quite literally wrung me out. The good thing is, that I know I can still wrestle or box for 8 hours in a row day after day. I wonder how many other 50 year olds can lay claim to that.
Some of the personnel how have seen the raw footage said it is the most exhausted and detailed look at the Combat fighting Arts they had ever seen. One of the Operators made the comment that there are those who can fight and those who can teach but there are only a handful of individuals in the world who can fight, teach and also truly understand the psychological and physiological aspects of life and death combat between men.
Knowing this mans background, this was probably the greatest compliment I have ever been paid.
Now we go on to editing.
These DVD's should be out in late November if I get enough time to sort them all out.
I think all of you will enjoy them and those of you who are serious warriors will be enhanced by them.
