The Regiment and the Zealot only have one detent. Any reason for the switch?
I'm not complaining because the action on mine are super smooth. Blades are well centered and closing detent is strong. Just curious

Yes, wait for ER.

I couldn't care less for the dual detents. I don't see it as an improvement as all my Emersons will swing out with a decent shake. I've noticed this on other knives but not by other brands as a whole. Don't see it as a problem as it makes for a smooth knife. I just don't wear an Emerson in my pocket while running in athletic shorts.

Maybe I keep them looser than others. The knives not the shorts.

Sounds like you DO keep them a bit looser than most. You shouldn't be able to shake it open. As for the single detent on the recent knives? We're trying it out. We like it so far. Maybe you will too! Have a great rest of your weekend guys!

I always figured that was par for the course but you're probably right. I like it tight enough so there isn't any blade play yet still nice and smooth. Just an odd quirk I can easily deal with on some of my favorite knives.

As always, thanks for the input ER.

I get asked "David why do you have so many Emerson's?"
To which I always give my Jeff Goldblum answer:

"how dare you speak to me!"

I have the Regiment and the Zealot as well. The single detent seriously makes the knives a lot smoother. I like it! Hope they continue that over to all the models. :)
