You should've informed them that they were defective and offered to take them for half price... They'd make fun little project axes for practicing sharpening, modding, hanging, etc.
Nice find and thanks for providing me with today's chuckle.
You're right in that these look to be Collins, Mexico, at least that's what they (those big yellow decals) tend to look like up here. But, if the 'trained and talented' assembly line worker(s) that hang these are capable of doing this en masse, and QC (quality control) actually passes them, then I don't have much faith in any facets of their production. Next thing you know we'll start seeing upside down handles!
All the truper made brands (Collins, mintcraft, truper, etc.) have that yellow weight sticker. The mintcraft ones usually run a little better qa wise than the truper, but I don't know about the Collins branded ones.
The upside down head is a new low, but the truper boys axes at the local Tractor supply tend to have about a 75% rate of runout in the handles.
Ha Ha, I was in Tractor Supply last week and picked up one, was so busy looking at the grain of the handle and never looked at the head! Well bottom line is for 15$ you get what you pay for.
Seems that they made a lot of them since I'm in the foothills outside San Diego and the OP is in KY, I'm still laffing at myself.
