Just got these two babies in from Richard J, so you know they are high quality and screaming sharp.
One is a dedicated rescue blade, with a cutout in the kydex sheath for seatbelt/clothing cutting. Don't have any seatbelt on hand, but goes through some old jeans pretty quick. It's CPM M4 at a whopping 67 HRC! And of course he took it so sharp, that it treetops easily (something I had never actually seen in person before)
It's also convexed and mirror polished for a real impressive look
Also pretty genius is the sheath, with optional belt clip configuration or neck carry configuration, and it easily switches between the two. Also as a neck knife, you can opt to grab and take the sheath off too, so that way it can be used as a seatbelt cutter.
Other blade is a wharncliff, which is hollowground and just as sharp. Will likely use it as a boot knife. Richard suggested some plastidip as handle material, but I'm thinking about leaving it as is. Will probably carry around for a bit and see how it feels.
Ergos on both are great, but I will see if it is too slippery from actual usage
But kudos to Richard J for another fantastic blade.. if you are looking for something special, I wouldn't hesitate to go to him, even if its just for sharpening service. As far as customs go though, he really puts in the time to consider all your needs and thinks of some pretty creative solutions... lets just say I have another one in the works that I am pretty excited for
