After years of essentially ignoring fixed blades and using folders, I finally woke up and recognized the wonderful merits of fixed blade knives. Among a few that I recently bought, is this Eskabar... I haven't done much other than some basic cuts so far, but I can easily see the merits of such a small, lightweight, but capable knife. Easy pocket carry too. The blade was somewhat sharp out of the box, but a few passes on the ceramic sticks really put a nice edge on the knife.

As you might guess, yes, this is my first attempt at braiding paracord... it's in need of a re-do!

Great looking knife. Watch out for that lanyard though - they can and do yank knives from sheaths.

Nice, been meaning to pick one of those up myself. Do you pocket carry with a static cord, or just drop it in? I used to carry an izula iwb, but i could never warm up to it and ended up selling it. I loved the knife, just wasn't comfortable to carry, at least the way I was doing it.

The Eskabar is a great blade and, for a small knife, can handle some very large tasks.

I've carried one every day for over six months now. I pocket carry with a loop of paracord attached to the sheath and anchored to my belt. It carries just as easily as a folder with a clip.

Nice. I might just have to pick one up. It is quite affordably priced here.

Nice photographic technique too. No simple padawan, that's for sure.

Only thing wrong about the wrap is the tail being too long on it :) That'd be a real PITA (as far as balance issues and snagging/getting in the way) in use, as I'm sure you're well aware of. Photographically speaking, it's all good tho.

EDIT: Because of you, I started perusing some Ka-bar knives and, of course, bought the Eskabar, the BK2, and BK2 micarta scales. Look what you've done!

Thanks for the comments... yep, I agree, the lanyard is to waaay too long... must re-do.

I find the knife very easy to pocket carry... don't even know it's there.

This knife is quite a bargain... great from gpknives.com

Thanks for the purchase ZD! These sell well both online and in the store, a great little knife for the money.

GPKnives... I want to thank YOU! Whenever I want to buy a knife, you are the first place I go and usually the last... Thanks for the very low prices and your superb service... You are my favorite knife seller by far!
