Would it be possible for anyone @ Cold Steel Inc. to maybe talk LT and his crew into doing even more designs on their already excellent and affordsble machetes? I've been looking at some of the Thai machetes, as well as the Malay and other Filipeno designs (HUGE fan of my hand polished 12" CS barong machete BTW!).
It's just an idea as the majority of these asian made blades ("Aranyik" in particular, but also some designs done by "Condor") are incredibly well built, but fetch a high price and are often limited in availability. It would be AMAZING if C.S. knives were to try doing a Parang, Golok, or Thai Narong (square tipped, convex sharpened, and socket handled like a CS Bushman for pole mounting, much like a CS two-handed machete but with a thicker blade) styled machete in the same spirit as the new re-designed Barong!
I just ask because I'm really taken with these designs, and I'd rather buy CS and have some affordable users that i can mod and personalize and maybe give as gifts than shell out $40-$65+ on a handmade model that I have to wait 3 months for. I'll save those for an eventual trip to S.E. Asia. It It may sound like a horrible idea to everyone but I've stated my reasons, and it never hurts to make conversation. What does anyone else think if this? (be gentle, I'm a new guy!
Thanks!!!!!!
