New Factory Seconds?

I was at the gun show today and there was a gentleman selling BOXES and BOXES of all different types of Kershaws. He said they were all new factory seconds, only due to apperance blemishes. He also mentioned that they still had the lifetime warrenties on them. All of them had XXX marked on the blade somewhere. I just wanted to double check to make sure he wasn't yanking my leg about the warrenties.
 
Technically they do not carry warranty, that is why they are marked and severely discounted. Now with that said if you were to have a problem with the mechanical portion of the knife they ( Kershaw ) may choose to take care of it for you, but I believe, because it is marked as a blem, they are not obligated to do so. That is my understanding on the issue. If this isn't right , I am sure Tim or Tif will chime in and correct me. I also know the person you are speaking of and he is a good guy , I have purchased many a knife from him, he may however be confused on the warranty issue, I am reasonably sure he would not mislead anyone intentionally.

Yes, he was a very polite person.

I just want to make sure what he said was true. If so, I will be going back to him very soon to pick up some new toys.
 
i went to that Kershaw factory sale for the first time this year and I have to say that I can see him genuinely not knowing the policy and/or just assuming. I wasn't looking, but I saw nothing posted with regard to this policy. I would also assume that Kershaw would always want to help out on normal wear and tear issues that could arise. Even if that isn't the 'official' policy. They have an interest in creating and keeping customers.
 
Were there any XXX "Rated" Zero Tolerance Knives available?

......i figure if i ever cut another one down into a "Baby" i'm gonna void the factory warrentee anyway,.......and well,.....sorta make it a "blem" also! :D

Also,......what range of pricing off of regular MSR were they? Just curious.....

Yes, they had 0200/0301/0302 ZT blades with XXX on them. He also had 3 Tyrade with the same markings. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the prices here, so I'll keep that to myself. But they were heavly discounted.

BTW the ZT knives are a beast!!!


I was going to buy a JYD and the only thing I noticed was a blue speck on the g10. However, I was worried about the warrenty issue so I didn't buy it.
 
The factory second knives carry a FULL MECHANICAL WARRANTY FOR LIFE!!!!:D:D:D We just mark them with the x's so we now that it had a cosmetic blem.

Actually,....i didn't ask you for what they were selling "for",.....just a range of what percentage off SRP. ;)

As i'm not likely to ever get to one of the factory sale days,....living here in the great northeast,......i thought i could get a feel for what you guys can "steal" them for! :eek: :D

Kinda thought so,.....the owner has a working knife for as long as he lives!




Warrantee fine print:......and if the knife breaks,.......we gotta kill ya! :D:D:D

..........a cosmetic "blem"? Just thinking deep here. :D

Wheelbarrow???...With all the knives he bought, I'm guessing that he just backed a moving van up to the door to load 'em all in, using a forklift.:D.

You guys would be surprised at just how little space it really takes for that number of knives, a couple of shopping bags and you are done. I wanna go back today, I missed a few things :D:D:D
