Hey there friends! I received a Fallkniven BS1 blade in the mail this weekend and couldn't sleep, eat, or think about anything else until it had some scales and a pair of pants!! The scales are OD canvas micarta with black G10 liners and carbon fiber pins. Sheath is made by yours truly  This is my first Fallkniven and I am really impressed with the finish of this blade- it's almost a piece of art! I did notice, however, that when I was shaping my scales, I got a little carried away around the spine and when I look down the length of the spine (in the right light), I can see some superficial waviness (really not that bad) along the spine. Does anyone out there in the BFC have some tips for squaring up this super-tough VG10 spine? Thanks in advance and thanks for looking!

If you are using a sanding belt don't press into the belt and run it from pommel to tip then hand blend it. When you press in you bow the sanding belt and get more of a U shape. By doing one pass from pommel to tip you remove the problem of human imperfection being visible from two passes that don't match angles. my 0.02$

Thank you! That sounds exactly like what I did wrong.

Nice job there. I'm in the process of putting mahogany scales on an H1. Fallkniven blanks are getting hard to find. Use it in good health.
