Last night on the way home from work I stopped off at the Ace Hardware to see if they had any pocket knives. I was hoping to see a case on the counter loaded full of USA Schrades, but there wasn't. It was loaded with Case knives though. So I picked up a 3207 CV Mini Trapper. I like it. It is sharp too. Nearly cut the tip of my thumb off while slicing an apple. The blades have nice purple/blue swirls now. Now I got to stop and get another bag of apples.

LOL, I wonder how many apples are sold each year just because some knifenut bought a new toy. I know I do the same thing, many an apple met its end against the razor edge of new steel.

Hats off to Case again. I really wonder if/hope the folks from Queen read this forum.

I've had one D2 Queen and never could get it shaving sharp. Got frustrated and sold it. I have two of their older stainless models and they take a good edge.

But yeah, every Case I ever bought new was shaving sharp out of the box. It's a jagged sharp edge, but it is sharp.

Finally snapped it portrait. After almost two weeks, a dozen or so apples and a couple packs of strawberries, it is developing a character all it's own. I love this knife. Small enough to hide in the pocket, big enough to tackle bigger jobs (like the peanut does).

I started to contour the front bolster. I don't like the square bolsters they put on the trappers.

Excellent looking knife!. How did you contour that front bolster, pray tell?.

did the dirty work with the bastard file. sorta cleaned it up with a scotch brite belt. i'm not finished with it. still hafta smooth out the lines and make it more uniform.

here is a scan of it. shows the patina real good. what is the date shown on the tang stamp?
