Very cool! The blades, the gift to your son, the shared name. All very cool!

Thanks SN. Very kind of you mate. He's already wanting to wield it but he's only 5 heading toward 6. I've let him hold it, of course with my very close supervision. Can hardly wait till the day we both sit in the bush feathersticking or processing timber together. It's gonna be a great day.

Congrats. I'll probably end up with one of those, one of these days.

I'd say something nice with heaps of praise about what a great dad you are and what a great knife the 12 is, how you made a wise decision getting one for yourself. I'd probably add that it's also heart warming to hear your imaginings about camping with you son and your matching knives.
But right now, I'm not gonna say any of that. I'm still too jealous that you got #603 and, and and.... engraved it with YOUR name!

OK, JK ;). The 12 is an awesome example of what the collaboration of two thoughtful and experienced designers can produce. I think you couldn't have chosen better, mate. My guess is your son will prove he's ready before you think....and you'll both be pretty jazzed when that time comes.

Plus, yaknow....#603! You just know that knife is gonna perform! ;)

Dead on!

Haha sorry Granite, I ideally would have loved consecutive numbers for our blades. Would have been the icing on the cake, but wasnt to be. They do feel nice in hand. I watched a video last night from Virtua voice ("knife people"), he said it was an extremely light chopper, put it more on par as a combat knife that he takes into the mountains of Japan to ward off bears. Closest thing i have here are Koala Bears. Great slicer though, looking forward to using it..

Virtua voice videos are interesting, its nice he tries to make videos in English, despite limited command of speaking it. Nice to see his videos, compared to some of the other who talk nonstop BS about themselves and how awesome they are, or dissing the weather/surroundings, naming knives and all that, with knives seem like a bit of an after thought. There are some great Youtubers though and I bet like fellow Beckerheaders we spend hours watching videos on knives we already own and know all about, but still watch vids (BK&T Pron) about them...haha or that just me?

I love this guy, tho' he took some getting used to. Bottom line....if Virtua voice gives it his approval, I'm pretty convinced that he has carefully considered the pertinent factors, and it's a good dependable knife. I love it when he talks about stabbing bears. LOL

Same ichor, i aways look forward to his vids. i give validity to his videos because he demonstateds through practice and experience. I especially enjoyed a particular video where he was field dressing a deer and preffered the BK16 over a bark river, which are great knives, but i do love the 16, its perfect for me.

I keep telling myself I'll get one of these someday. I also keep thinking that maybe someday I should just get a 10 or a 7 because they are "close"...

Congrats on the new steel :).

I am glad I could get one... I had looked for one for awhile but none were for resale... I think the Ritter and 16 make a great pair for camping chores....
