This is one I just finished up. The design is pure Loveless. I normally don't use others designs but this is such a classic design and has been used by so many that I had to try to make one. The double hollow ground blade is 8 1/4" of Paul Bos heat treated 154CM. The fittings are nickel silver with maroon linen micarta scales. This knife was a real challenge as there are several aspects of the construction that I normally do not utilize in my knives. For starters I am mostly a flat grinder, once in awhile I will hollow grind but it is rare. Also the complete subhilt assembly was a challenge. By the way, I have nothing against hollow grinding it is just something I don't do alot of.

Sorry about all of the pictures but I am playing with my camera. I am trying to learn how to take a decent pic.

that is amazing! What a heck of talent! Without a doubt my favorite style of knife! Paul

Now THAT shows versatility and range Craig! :)

The big-bear has always been a slick fighter, always will be. It's definitely the most difficult, construction wise, of the Loveless style knives (that I've seen).

Double hollow-grinding is one of the few things that a lot of pounders don't do or try to master. You did a real nice job of it here....VERY nice/sharp center-line.

It looks like you went with a slightly thinnger guard/sub-hilt...which is a great improvement (IMHO).

Great work Craig!!! :D

I love it. I would, however, like to see the other side of the knife. :p :D

What can I say - you got it ! I've never figured out the construction of one of these pieces either ... I can't see anything wrong with that one, and like Nick, I do like the thinner subhilt as well. Just shows what you can - "just occasionally" when you're in the mood - Man ! You're versatile - forged Bowies and hunters, kerambits now this... Jason.

Thanks for the nice comments guys. I took photos of this one in various stages as it was being constucted. If you would like to see them let me know and I will post them to the thread.

Dan, you mean you are suppossed to photograph both sides of the knife. :D
