Here is my latest project.

12 7/8" OAL
8 1/4" Blade
15N20 And micarta

I was trying to get comfort and performance. All of the cutting tests I did the 15N20 performed admirably.
Comments and critiques welcomed.

Every aspect of this knife looks as though it's perfectly designed and executed for it's intended tasks.
And very nice looking on top of that.

Thanks Kevin. A knife maker buddy of mine said that hand made fillet knives are kind of like ugly sisters, there are some of them out there but not many show them off.

Nice work. Love the handle shape.
Wish I caught fish that needed a knife that big. :-(

very fine looking knife you made.

Thanks for the kind comments guys.

Funny you should ask Tad.

The picture shows I am no Chuck Ward, but I was having fun.

Sweet. I've been meaning to make one to use. I'm stuck on the electric fillet knives. Nice bass...I'm guessing 3.5 lbs?

I like it Chris. I like the Micarta as the handle too. No worries on that end. Just use it and let the blade patina. Its a very nice knife.

Thanks for the complements gents. I had fun making this one. It is the first I have made stock removal. I tend to try to forge pretty close to final shape, with the tapers and bevels established on the anvil. It's a bit different trying to keep everything in place removing the steel versus moving the steel with a hammer.

Rick, I hope all is well in Oklahoma with all the rain that's been hitting y'all.
