I removed the black.. And blasted it to a nice finish.. This new "media" my dad picked up.. Makes it "shimmer" in the sun..Wierd.. More than the average finish would..
But here is a Quick pic..
Hopefully some Home Made digi camo Scales on it next.. Who needs tad gear.. Phffff...:D
Do you think it would look bad if all the hardware was finished the same as the blade.. Might make it a bit too jumpy ?
Dont mind the grubby work hands folks.. They dont bite.

That looks good  I might have to send you mine :D

Sure..
The black was great and all.. But It got old..
I broke the darn spray gun too.. I would have gone through another session.. But whatever..lol If anyone does this..I would recommend sticking a piece of tape over the lock up tang.. So that it functions the same. Just in case.

I am not a big fan of blade coatings and I've been itching to put nice convex edge on it. I might wait a bit though she's still new.

Got any close up pic's of the surface?

Yeh.. I just sharpened this to a nice 30 degree to 40 degree convex..
I waited a few weeks .. And today was the day..
I could try and get a pic of a close up for you...Let me see if the cam will pick it up. What is your main concern?

Just want to see what it looks like up close.

Here you go.. This is pretty much what it looks like... Maybe a bit more gray in certain lighting or not.. But that is close.. It took 20 pictures to find one that came in focus.. Geeze..
Hope this helps..

Now that I think about it Would that void the warranty?

SWEET!!!

That just makes it even more tempting :D

I don't ever seem to have a problem with knives rusting even when I try but do you think it would be more prone because of the finish or is it really fine?

I have done this finish on close to a Dozen knives and none of them rusted.. But some bead blast finishes could possibly rust a bit easier .. But not for me..Because of that... I would prefer to have a finish like this that looks nice... I have also seen rust on some hand rubbed satin finish I did..
I dont know.. I never had any issues, but they do seem to exist.. I maintain my knives well..
I did a buck 110 about 5 years ago and it has not been touched for about 2 years.. no rust..

I don't even know why I worrie, my 52100 mule has never even been oiled and it has yet to rust... go figure.

Yup.. no worry here.. Just a happy knife owner.
I guess I will polish or blast the clip and leave it at that..

I like the naked look on your 0300.

My concern regarding rusting on bead blasted finishes is caused by a recently purchased Kershaw JYDII showing pin point rusting after less than one week of ownership.

I am hoping the steels used in the ZT 0200 and 0300 will be more rust resistant than in the JYDII?

Yup..
I know.. My JYD had some light surface rusting after only a week or two..
Either the finish or the steel I guess.
I re-blasted a friends JYD II and satin rubbed mine..
Either way.. Something was up with them..
But like I said.. I never had any problems..
Only time will tell... I work outside.. Rain or shine.. And in a shop with all kinds of chemicals.. Im sure I will find out. lol...
But I doubt it. Besides, mineral oil and Rem oil are both my friend.
