New finish

Just bought a new 943. The blade finish is different from the stonewash on other recent Benchmades. It's kind of like the flat non-reflective satin finish Kershaw has used on some of their knives.

I'm not complaining...it looks good. I can't post pictures to show but I was wondering if anyone else has bought a knife recently with this type of finish?
 
That's the normal finish for that knife. They use different finishes for different models.

Okay. The 943 has a different finish than the 940 then?

This is the first time I've seen this type of finish on a Benchmade and I have about a dozen other models. All of them have the semi-glossy satin finish. Except for the black coated blades that is. I thought this might be something new.
 
Ah...There's the rub.

This 943's finish is not at all like my standard 940. The 940 I have has the standard finish that's on all my other Benchmades (back to an old 440C Griptilian). This 943 is a much less shiny, kind of gray finish.
