Last night I took apart my 42s to clean and got the urge to polish the blade, well that took about 3 hours with a dremel tool, a cotton wheel, and some polishing compound. After hours of getting these:eek: and  looks from my yobo, I reassembled the expensive gift she gave me for my birthday. :D It looked great!!!

I wake up this morning with a desire to continue where I left off. Now the blade is nice and shiney, but I want it to look nice when it's closed too! So I polished the flat sides of the handles (not the skeletal sides) and latch only, it looked great too! but for some reason I did'nt want to stop so I ended up doing the whole damn thing!:D I did not want to put a mirror finish on the handles so as to destroy the grip, but it is very shiney and you can clearly see the grindlines in the both the handles and blade. If I can ever figure out how to post a pic I will.

Both of my 42's have customized handles. One has nice marbled blue thermally oxidized handles and the other has mirror polished handles. The blue one got thouched up with a pencil tourch a couple times and the mirror pollished one will get some more attention next: Polished counter sunk holes.
Yup, it is hard to stop once you begin customizing.....

if I prefect a way to polish the countersunk area, you can bet that the blue one will soon be blue with silver colored accents around the holes ;)

Thanks, I will! My friend has a digital camera, I'll send them to you along with a still shot of the "Balisong" flip.

Sgtp- it sounds like you done some pretty neat work to your collection. Do you have pics of them?

hmmm, polishing smooth the counter sunk area is a tedious job. I used a cone shaped dremel type grinding stone in a drill press then moved the handles around to polish it. I dont see myself doing that again....but maybe theres a better technique....

Ive been wanting to post some pictures of my bali collection for a while. Be looking for it....I have a little of everything...no customs though
