Hey i was in school today scrubbing some pots and pans andon the dish drain board i noticed a "griddle screen" a nice woven metal crosshatch kind of pad that we use to crub griddles and keep em clean. So i scribbed the side of a SS pan for a good 5 minutes to see the finish it seems to give a pretty nice satin finish. anyone ever use something like this? if you need one to try and don't work in a restaurant let me know maybe i can ship one to someone who wants to try a satin finish.

If you use one on a knife and scrub in one direction only as in a hand finish, it would probably look pretty cool.

quit your wishful thinking IG, i'll never be yours! better be ready for some good fun buying out everything at the ol store! and of course i'll be ready for a heat treat by then so we have a day mapped out,

I used one of those to scrub my stainless handled Delica one time, It left a pretty nice satin finish, a little rough, but it looked pretty good. At first I put some deep scratches in the blade in the wrong direction and it really pissed me off, then I just kep scrubbing and got a decent satin finish.

Boy Mike you are hooked. Working out blade finishes while doing dishes at work. There'll be no curing you now. Good job, bud!
:D

na, they're not scothbrite pads, if you want i can send you a picture of one in an e-mail and someone might want to post it for me. it is a scothbrite 3m product its used to a scothbrite pad holder which holds the pad and then the griddle screen so you have a nice little handle to clean your griddle with

HH brought a piece over it looks like the screen mesh that they sand the mud that you put on the seams when sheetrocking, but with a finer grit.
