Try as I might, I just cant keep from making FB's. This one is a new pattern, my goal was to build a small lightweight utility knife. This is just a proto so no HT yet. Knives will be built with either ATS34 or 154CM for now, though I'll offer S30V as usual.

Specs:

1/8 inch thick stock, blade is just under 3.25 from plunge to tip, full flat ground. Edge is roughly .020"thick so it ought to slice really well. Overall length is just under 7 3/4 inches. Finger groove works as a finger groove or as a choil if choked up on blade. Satin finish blade, blasted green canvas micarta. Thanks guys - Charles

Looks very handy! This is what I like in a good knife...simple and effective. The handle looks very comfortable too.

Is this prototype not heat-treated? Is that what you meant by "no HT yet"?

Nothing not to like here. This would be a good one for EDC or camping or the field. This pattern would look great in Maroon Micarta.

Thanks guys. You're correct on the HT, just whipped this up to see what it would feel like and see if I like the design. Thus far everyone around here seems to like it. My plan is to make them with Black, Green and Tan Canvas micarta, but I may have to see what Maroon would look like :) Thanks for looking - Charles

Awesome little design, IMO. 1/8" stock with a thin, flat grind ought to be a slicing demon. Also quite light. While you are certainly capable of turning out fancier blades, these are the type that really get used. My hats off to you! Are you taking orders for them?

Congrats on a great user design. I find it very difficult to keep it simple - I think that really shows skill in execution of the cutting tool at its purest.

Super looking knife Charles.., and Merry Christmas..., nice little change of pace for you there. :)

It looks like a great utility knife. That canvas Micarta looks great. It is by far my favorite of the synthetic handle materials.
