Now I can post this knife, since it is strapped to my side. I got it yesterday and made up a sheath.

charliemike that's a lot of knife for 150$, maybe down the road you'll tell us how it cuts. my guess is 1095 alloy. you did'nt mention the steel. thanks for the video & the sheath is not bad--looks like it's very durable.

Does your blade wind up touching the copper rivets at all when in the sheath? I like the looks of it over stitching, but I wonder if running the edge up against one of them is an issue.

As far as the knife goes, pretty nice looking. Has a really traditional feel to it in the blade I can't put my finger on. I think it's the full flat grind on it, but I'm not sure.

Is that African Blackwood tough stuff? Is it the same as ebony? I'm looking for something black like that in a natural wood that won't take much wear or scratches.

Along the edge is another layer to keep the blade from hitting metal. It is a hair over .25".

on the janka wood hardness scale african blackwood rates about 4400. probably in the top 10 hardest woods in the world. snakewood goes at 3800 & hickory about 1700.
