Wanting a new flashlight. Something on the smaller side. I have had surefire lights and a few cheap ones. Just looking for some advise on a high quality light. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks all!

I will recommend HDS Systems lights. If you are willing to push your budget further, go for a Mcgizmo Haiku. A quick search in Google will show you where to find them [emoji6]

Malkoff is my favorite brand. built like a tank simple operation. made in the usa and Bright. several models to choose as well as dropins for other brands of lights.

Do you want to buy a "Sebenza" or a "Benchmade" or a "Kershaw"?
I have been happy with Fenix and carry one in my pocket every day. I'm thinking about an Olight for my next EDC model, and I see recommendations for Thrunite as well.

I am thoroughly in the "kershaw" camp and love Thrunites. I had the older T10 and it was my EDC for about two years. It finally crapped out on me a week or so ago and I ordered the new version. The new version of the Thrunite T10 has what I consider a "not as nice, though probably just as good" clip and tail switch, but also was upgraded by 100 lumens. So far I am just as pleased with the new version. The new version of the T10 also cost about $6 LESS than the one I bought two years ago!

All that to say- For everyday use and abuse Thrunite gets the job done!

Sebenza, benchmade territory I guess. I did end up buying a few different lights cause I couldn't make up my mind. Getting 2 Maratac a nitecore and a lumintop.

Another thing to think about is that the higher quality lights offer you better beam tint options. I'm sure some people will chime in here, but essentially most hi powered LEDs have a slight blue tint to them, and when they are used to illuminate things with varying degrees of a deep color, especially brown or "warmer" colors, the appearance is "off".

If you get a light with a Nichia 219B LED, you're generally going to get a light that offers you a more realistic beam tint color relative to viewing things in the llate afternoon sunlight. These lights offer a "warmer" tint, but the trade-off is they don't have as high lumen count.

Both HDS and Malkoff offer lights with the Nichia LED. I am nowhere near as hard-core on flashlights at some of these guys, but if you saw a surefire Fury beam spot compared to a Nichia LED the difference is impossible to miss.

Most of the higher-end lights: mcgizmo, sinner, HDS, Okluma all have the Nichia LED. Don or some of these other guys can elaborate on this. I think it's something to consider.

I just picked up a Eagletac d25a titanium and really like the size for a EDC light. I also have a Lumintop Tool in titanium coming as well, should be another terrific little light.

Small you say? Check out the Olight S mini, comes in 3 different titanium versions with a neutral white LED or a stainless and 3 copper versions with cool white LEDs. They have a black friday sale from the 24th until the 28th.

How much are they in sale? That's a great looking little light.

I have that recommended more than once. I am definitely getting one to add to my new but growing collection. Thanks for the advise!

Yeah I definitely know what you mean about the color. Some lights certainly do have a very noticeable blue tint. My new maratac lights seem really, really nice. I seem to like this whole light thing? Guess it just comes with an addictive personality.
