Ok, so got my paws on it. First impression is it is big, 4” blade 5mm thick,9.5” overall and heavy.
Looks are special shall we say and not for everyone I’m sure. The one I have was created for 556 tactical so the emblem and coating (cammoflauge). I find it not bad, could live without the emblem, the cammoflauge is nice though, very subtle. The dual thumb studs what can I say I don’t mind them, adds a unique look, but that is entirely subjective. Grip is actually very good, and lockup is bang on. There is some sort of guard for the lock, again subjective, I’m indifferent probably leave them off if I was building one. Speaking of the handle the stand off pins are huge and is definitely an acquired taste, in some literature I saw it written up that these and the holes in the tang allow it to be attached “a la “ spear, nothing I’d do, and the outside holes distract from the nice micrata handle. It is also a flipper and no issues here, for a heavy blade it moves out pretty well, but no apparent loosening of he blade in the pocket. The bearings are I don’t know what, and I’m not going to take it apart. Pocket clip is so so as far a pocket clips go.Blade is an “ American tanto” looks like all the others calling the blade that name. As for steel BD4P, a new one for me some sort of CPM 154 like .
It has the markings of 2xx / 300 and USA made. And there is the crux for the haters. If it was/is USA made as claimed, it is up there in quality with other hard use folders like ZT for example. If it is China made it is up there with recent quality folders coming out of China. It is a very well built knife with some unique touches. Sadly business practices seem to have sunk the company. Sorry for the pictures, I suck at that. I’ll report back in a few months
