New folder to abuse?

I'm looking for a new carry piece to supplement my Spydie Military. I am hunting for something with a 3.5-4" blade, tip down carry, and a lot more tip strength than my beloved Military. I prefer higher end steel, and G-10 or Micarta handles unless it's a frame lock. Looking in the price range of <$200 retail, and whatever that translates to on the net/forum prices. I've looked at all the BM stuff, nothing there really impresses me, had most of it, apparantly didn't like it much cause it's almost all gone now.

If you're into G-10, I'd check out REKAT's folders, or perhaps even a Syderco Wegner.

The Wegner is tip up. Try a Starmate.

That's true. I forgot about where the clip is attached. A Starmate is a good choice.

Just saw the new Microtech Amphibian. This is one great looking knife. I do not know the price, but knowing Microtech, it will be fairly high. It does not seem to be on their web site yet, but I saw it in the latest Knives Illustrated.

I have thought about MOD, debating between a couple models and auto/manual on those, I have only been able to play with one, it was pretty nice.
I am not a big Emerson or MT fan, and if the Amphibian looks like the pics of the proto I saw, damn, it's ugly. IMHO of course.
I have only owned one REKAT, and wasn't impressed, it was a CF Sifu, and it was gone all most as quick as I got it.
I do like the idea of the Starmate, but I still would like some input on the tip strength on that one.
