This is my 3rd try...well, third one that works anyway:)

I'm using 1095 on these first ones because I have a lot of it and it's not terribly expensive - I think I made every part of this knife at least twice:). But I kind of like it the end result with the etched steel. Blade is about 3" long, so these are kind of smaller for "tacticals." Trying different blade grinds, but mostly experimenting with different materials, spacers, pivots, lock angles, etc. So many variables, but the knives seem to basically work within a moderate window, despite my meanderings:) Once I settle on all the different design aspects, I'll start cranking some out in CPM-whatever, hopefully late this year. This one has a few obvious areas for improvement, especially that thumb disc that needs to be seated down into the spine.

Oh, and a huge thanks to Mr. Bob Terzuola for helping me with this one, and most assuredly saving me many headaches in the future! I can't overestimate what a great gentleman he is. I truly don't mean to name drop here - I just can't post this up like I did it all myself. This thing opened with all the smoothness of a barn door before he graciously took time out of his schedule to help me out with it.

Thanks for looking! Any suggestions for improvement are greatly appreciated!

I like that a lot. I especially like the 1095 and 3" part, and the dual blade grind is excellent

First off super looking folder, excellent look and design IMO.
And yea I agree Bob is the best, he has helped me with every folder I have made also. Although indirectly, his book is really really good.

I'd buy one! Framelock please :D

I think it's beautiful the way it is, plus I actually like the idea of 1095 in a folder, something somewhat different. The only thing I don't like is the disc personally.

I REALLY like that! Yes the thumb disk needs to be seated in the spine. You can probably put a thumb stud on that too. Do you have a picture of it closed and also an underneath shot? Great job!

Thanks for the comments!

Mr. Clean, so far I'm only set up to make liner locks. A mill is on my short list, which will make frame locks realistic for my shop.

Ray, I already gave it away as a thank you for a friend. But, the blade was probably a few thou off center at the tip, but locked up nice - wasn't real bad, but not where I want them to be. I know the cause, and am looking forward to the next one. Also, I'm thinking about making my own thumbstud, something different maybe, if that's even possible. The one I'm working on now just uses a big torx screw, kind of cool and really simple.

Ben, I have gone through 6-8 clip designs and still haven't settled on one. What I want is something that let's the knife sit low in my pocket, which of course is more difficult to make (so far). It'd be nice if I could set it up for either tip up or down, user preference.

I would buy one of these instantly once you do one in CPMsomething...it's sooo good looking...

Great work!

man I keep coming back to this, it's like Hinderer meets Gayle Bradley meets Sniper Bladeworks meets Horton Knives. I'm really liking it. Do a thumb stud ala older RJ Martin havoc, framelock it, and keep the 1095. I think you have a winner!

like your style
very good.
you right about the disc,
needs to be seated down into the spine.
best regards

I've seen better! :p haha just kidding :) Nice Job Brother :D

This is a sweet little folder...got to see it this afternoon over
at his shop. Nice solid lock up and love the shape!

Thanks guys!

Looking at the photo again, I totally see what folks' beef with the thumb disk is about - it's jacking up the flow of the profile. It's something I added on the fly, but it's not in my original design drawings - that's what I get.

Lycosa, shot you an email reply tonight - cool turn of fate that I happen to live so close to Po. Don't worry about taking up for me - I earn it back by stealing all his trade secrets, lol. That will teach him to come by my place!

well bring that thing over on Weds night and you can put a milled cut out into it to bring the disc down! :P

I think he's got it confused. So far I have learned all the trade secrets from him :D

Awesome. With a big ole thumbstud. Or a spyderhole. It would be damn near perfect. Great. Work man. And. It helps to have someone showing. U. Props to Bob.
