Hi folks -
Many of you new JK Fanatics never were privy to the frame-locks that John was making for a short while.
I feel somewhat responsible, as I was always wanting a JK folder - And finally Mr. K made some -
I am lucky to have the first production JK Ti Frame-lock Folding Scout -
This baby is stout with a capital STOUT! I have used this knife for light chopping (making a rustic fishing pole for instance) and it has excelled at all I have thrown at it.
John even made a Ti clip for this knife - his first as I recall -
The centering and fit and finish were (and still are) superb -
I have some very nice custom and higher-end knives, and I put my JK #1 Ti Frame-Lock up against any of them. Does it look out of place in this group?? I think Not!
Yea - I have to take everything apart - it's the mechanic in me - but the JK is all quality.....
Of course I put it to work on a filet roll - if my knives can't do this, they don't stay with me long.
No problem for the heat-treat brother of the viKtim!
Works great as a gentleman's steak knife at the table, too!
Later with my brandy-peppercorn filets.
Kirill was there using the JK Kitchen Knife that the Boss designed - that's another review ;^)
And with Mr. Sogetsu's handmade paracord lanyard, which is with ole' Number 1 to this day....
I asked Mr. K to round the spine, as I do on all of my knives now - I just think this adds class (and I use the sharp edge on firesteels if necessary)
I have been carrying this baby some lately - still love the knife and I feel like I could chop a fridge in half with it - it's that solid.
Thanks John - I still love that you made these and I hope you make more someday soon!
best
