New for 2015 Buck Factory Made Auto????

I've not heard of anything like that coming from the Buck factory. I've seen those come out of AZ. DM

There are four sections I check daily and this is one of them, but I have yet to see any comments here about this, so here is the thread from another section on BF...Is it true?

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1251975-BUCK-Automatic-898-Impact-for-2015

The 898 Impact is printed in the Buck dealer catalog for 2015 you see reproduced for your viewing pleasure in the above cited thread started by me. Is this you calling me a liar tom19176?

Also, it is cited in this thread, post #15: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1248813-SHOT-Show-2015

Here is a link to Buck's own press release citing the new 898 Impact: http://www.buckknives.com/press/buck knives to debut many new products at 2015 shot show/

The 898 Impact might be a bit difficult to actually obtain. Following is a quote from a well respected Buck dealer: "Some of you may have heard that Buck is coming out with an automatic model this year. There is extra paperwork for dealers involved and the knife cannot be shipped via US postal service. At this time, I do NOT anticipate selling the 898 Impact automatic model."

If you read the fine print in the catalog under the picture, it says they will be for sale in Idaho...
Does that mean only at the factory store then?

Law Enforcement and Military are exempt from state laws if they submit the proper forms. The Firearms that are banned in CA like a regular AR15 can be bought by local Law Enforcement Officers also here in CA with the proper paperwork.

Only for sale in Idaho? Doesn't seem like a good business move to make a knife and restrict sales like that. However, I am not a businessman.
Does make me want one now though :-)

I do not doubt anyone. I read it as called an 'assisted opener'. Then I wondered about this^. DM

orgeon...NO I am NOT calling you a liar ( I hope you were jokeing....). I was just surprised no one here had mention it!!!

Thank you kindly for the clarification tom. Please accept my humble apology. And thank you for spot lighting the 898 Impact. Rumors of a Buck factory automatic have been around for years. This is quite a departure from the famous maker of hunting tools. It looks like it will be fun to handle. The materials look top drawer and I am enthusiastic about this product line and I hope that Buck sells a million of them.

I've been wanting to return to Idaho since visiting for a week during the BCCI 25th. I liked it there and I need to follow this advise more closely since I neglected to take a wolf when I left:

To post on a internet chat sites one needs to be thick skinned. As arrogance does surface, rubbing people the wrong way. DM

The new survival knife in the video looked a little like the Vanguard until I saw the word " China " on the blade.

898 impact available at Buck store
