Spam is not welcome on this forum.

The original post states that Rapid River Knife Works will have a forum on BladeForums in the future. If that is indeed the case then I'd be reluctant to call this spam. Also not what I would consider to be a very warm welcome.

You got that right! I think they were treated very badly and think the two guys who did it should apologize.

Keith, take a look at his other posts. He always tries to promote his website and company.

I checked out his other posts and it does look like he is doing a lot of advertising. This may just be a lack of understanding of the rules of BladeForums.

Rapidriverknife1, you have to be very careful not to advertise your knives in your posts. Once you have your own forum here, you will be able to advertise on that forum, but you can not do so on the other forums. Discussing knives is what this particular forum is about, not promotion.

Maybe, but it is spam nonetheless, quite a lot of spam in a lot of different sub-forums too.

I am new to this forum too and it seems a bit harsh on the guy. Now i AM WORRIED TO POST, NOT KNOWING WHERE TO POST THINGS. I have been to the guys site and he is a nice dude.

I won't apologize, because it was spam.

Oh, and blademan99, I wouldn't worry about posting things. Not knowing where to post things is one thing, and the mods will move it if necessary. However, I never have liked door-to-door salesmen, and just like I don't want everyone who comes to my door offering me Amway, I don't want people who come to the forums always trying to cram their product down my throat. In ALL the posts I saw by that guy he mentioned, or listed, a place where you could get his products. i.e. Spam.

Edited to add: If the guy DOES go ahead and actually get a forum here, I'll be one of the first people to welcome him, and thank him for conducting his business ventures in the RIGHT WAY.

Don't worry, Blademan99, it's not that difficult. Just don't post ads in the discussion forums (especially don't spam ads all over the discussion forums as fast as you can paste them in, but don't even post one ad in a discussion forum). If you want to advertise on Bladeforums you have to get the appropriate membership and post in the appropriate forum in the Exchange section -- click on "Upgrade your forums experience, and help support this site" at the top of the page for details.

He might be a nice dude in some ways, but he annoyed a lot of people tonight with his spam, and also put the moderators to the trouble of cleaning up after him.

Sheesh. Guess which two former members posting in this thread used the same IP. What a bunghole.

So obviously he didn't have any kind of agreement with Spark to have a manufacturer forum and he deserved the label "Spammer".

Seems there was some discussion about maybe starting a forum here at some point in the future, but if he still wants to do that he's going to have to do some fast talking after all this.
