I am working on the new ads for Outdoor Edge and had a chance to play with the prototype of the new Paragee (Yes this will be the spelling).

The finished version will have a stone wash blade, the one in the pic is bead blasted.

Very nice…I’ll definitely have to plan on getting one. I guess we’ll have to wait for David B. to get back to get any more details, but I’m really curious to know what type of steel will be used and when these knives will be available (the last I heard was late Fall). I’ve been very impressed with OE’s other collaborations, but I’d really like to see them step up to a slightly higher grade of steel…

Darrel got them to use 12C27 on his Impulse folder. Good stuff, almost as good as 440C. If they use 12C27 on this knife, I will have to give one a try.
 
Blade length is 3.0" and we are leaning towards AUS-8A for the blade steel. We still don't know the MSRP for the Paragee however we plan to keep this knife reasonable. Our experience is that 8A offers the best performance for a mid priced production steel. Add a subzero quench and the Paragee will be a solid performer.
