Hi guys, Barry H just made a new g-10 scale for my Small Classic. This thing is awesome. It's textured ranger green (which is very grayish in color). I love the added grippiness. Barry H does awesome work and is a pleasure to deal with. Just thought I'd share...

thats really nice, does it feel a lot lighter?

My not so accurate mailing scale shows a less then 1/4oz difference between the g-10 Sebenza and a small CG Sebenza that I have. I can't tell really by handling it. I'm sure the difference in weight would be noticeable if it were a Large Sebenza.

BTW, that orange tanto looks fabulous.

It is a noticeable difference with a large sebenza like the Orange Handled Tanto Sebenza. I weighed it and the knife was .400 oz with titanium scale. .300 with orange handled scale. With a small sebbie, I doubt it would make much of a difference.

My small regular whighs in at 81g with the original Ti scales.
With a carbon fiber scale and spacer in weighs in at 64.8g

I know 16.2 grams dosn't seem like much but it's enough to feel :)

Nice. I like it.

Is the scale extra thick?

Well it's thicker than a normal ti slab, fills the hand better and makes for a much better grip, one of the lads on BB did a few.

Here's a small reg in orange that I have since sold(knife and slab)
cheers

those look pretty nice. i like the bright colours, since they are less likely to be lost on a hike if dropped/left behind.

how do they feel in terms of locking up and blade play? does the non-metallic frame/scale affect the usual solid feel at all?

also, can a simialr scale be made that will float if dropped when using a canoe? i would guess is no since the rest of the knife is quite heavy/dense by comparison.

sorry if these are obvious questions.

by the way, did CRK ship it with a swedge? that is a nice touch for a fire steel application.

Hi
The scale do'es not affect the opperation of the knife and feels more solid,if that makes sense, the scale is thicker and grippier,as for the swedge the knife was second hand and came with swedge and double thumb lug, glad you like cause I likes lots:D
